The inaugural Traverse City Wine & Art Festival was held at The Village at Grand Traverse Commons on Saturday, August 22, 2009 and was a huge success. Here are some highlights:
- The Traverse City Wine & Art Festival hosted 2,500 guests.
- The Festival gathered nearly every winery from the Leelanau & Old Mission Peninsulas and Traverse City at one event to feature and celebrate their wines collectively. A regional first!
- 35 of the region’s best artists brought their work to showcase and to sell.
- Promotional material was hand-distributed to over 10,000 potential attendees at locations across the state of Michigan.
- A regional PR campaign brought news of the Festival and sponsor to hundreds of thousands of food & wine aficionados in Michigan and the wider Great Lakes Region.
- The Traverse City Wine & Art Festival was the first large festival to take place at the newly renovated Grand Traverse Commons and will serve as a centerpiece of the summer 2010 Traverse City event lineup.
